Yes, you heard it right! Vimal has paid the producer of Vaagai Sooda Vaa, Muruganantham, Rs. 50 lakhs to help him recover from the loss he has incurred by making the film Vaagai Sooda Vaa. The film which won critical acclaim lost out in the race due to lack of publicity.


The film had very low collections in all the centers it was released though those who had seen the film had appreciated the film for its honesty, lack of compromise and the vision to bring out a quality product.

Sargunam made his dream film that he was very passionate about. Vimal had no money for himself when he decided to make the payment to the producer to recuperate him from loss. He had signed two more films and received advance payments and he paid off the producer with what he received from those two other producers. He had also promised the producer to act in a film without taking any salary.
