Harris Jayaraj’s first programme in the series of events in the ‘On the Edge’ Music Live Concert World Tour had a beautiful start at the grounds of Mayajal, ECR, Chennai on 08.10.11. It was a 2 hour 20 minutes show with stunning dance performances and scintillating music.
The programme started with director Gautham Menon’s speech. 24 songs were performed in the programme starting with Gautham Menon’s ‘Minnale’ song ‘Poop pol Poop pol…’ and ending with again from Gautham Menon’s film Kamal Hassan starrer ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu’ song ‘Manjal Veyil…’.
Audiences were given 3D glasses to view the 3D visuals shown in the giant screen on the stage. The singers and other performers had a grand stage entry with some doing it with hydraulic platforms.
Director Vijay took care of the whole show, right from conceptualizing and executing it.
An array of singers including Tippu, Harini, Andrea, Haricharan, Naresh Iyer, Benny Dayal, Alaap Raju, Krish, Kay Kay, Rahul, Sricharan, Devan, Harish Raghavendra, Suchitra, Sunitha, Shalini and Megha gave their soul-stirring music for the audience.
Jaya TV has associated as the television Partner. Sources close to the television channel said, ‘we are delighted with the association with this leading entertainment channel and will be looking forward to their guidance and contribution to make this musical concert a spectacular extravaganza.’
Harris Jayaraj, moved by the support of the film celebrities, performers and the audience, made an emotional speech thanking them in the end of the programme.
The music composer is on a high post the music release of Suriya's '7aum Arivu'. For the first time in Tamil cinema, he has included a Chinese song in the album. Harris - whose Bollywood flick 'Force' released recently - is currently busy completing work on 'Nanban' and 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi'.
‘On the Edge’s second will be in Coimbatore on 16 October, again with the same team.
