A case been filed with the Chennai High
Court against actress Bhuvaneswari for defaulting in payment of a loan
of Rs.1.5 crore which she took from an individual in K.K. Nagar. The
Court has directed the K.K. Nagar police to respond within a week’s time
on the petitioner’s claims.
Gurunathan from K.K. Nagar had stated in his petition before the Court that actress Bhuvaneswari borrowed Rs.1.5 crore from him on the pretext of producing a television serial to be aired on a popular regional television channel. “I obliged her immediately and gave the money.
“Later, I came to know that she wasn’t producing any tele-serial. I then met her and requested her to return the amount taken from me. Instead of returning the amount, she hired some goons and through them, threatened me with dire consequences if I kept on demanding the money.
“I filed a case with the K.K. Nagar Police who refused to register a case against her based on my complaint,” said Gurunathan and prayed with the Court to direct the K.K. Nagar police to file a case against the actress. The case came up for hearing with Mr. Justice Arumugusamy who ordered that a notice be sent to the K.K. Nagar police asking them to file a response in the case within a week’s time.
