Venkat Prabhu's Mankatha has impressed the audience despite getting mixed reviews. It has become a milestone film in Ajith Kumar's two decade career in the Tamil film industry. This has made the filmmaker and the actor to join hands again. Well, the success of the film is leading them for its sequel.

The filmmaker has admitted that they are planning for a sequel of Mankatha. Venkat Prabhu says that he had two scripts in hand before starting the recently released film. Now that the Tamil movie has been well-received by the audience, the director has decided to take up the other one.

In fact, Arjun Sarja had also told Venkat Prabhu before that Mankatha could become a franchise and asked him to be ready with another script for the second instalment of the Tamil film. Sources say that the film unit is raring to make the sequel for the movie.

However, it is not sure when the proposed project will be launched. Currently, Ajith Kumar is busy with the sequel of Billa, which is directed by Chakri Toleti.
