Mankatha is making all news due to the political names that has been linked with the movie. After the news stories about Mankatha being taken by Studio Green for Distribution, later came the news that Sun Pictures has bagged the Tv satellite rights, while the movie will be distributed by Dayanidhi's Azhagiri's Cloud Nine movies itself, who has produced the movie. Finally it is said Sun Pictures got the theatrical & satellite right for the movie.

The poster though does not announce and has Coming Soon, we hear that all efforts are being made to release the movie by the 31st of August.
