Director-producer Sakthi Chidamabram is learnt to have acquired the distribution rights of Vijay’s 51st film Kaavalan. He is making big plans to release the movie worldwide, it is said.
If sources are to be believed, the director of films such as Ennamma Kannu, Lootty, Vyabari, Sandai and Guru Sishyan and the producer of Pazhani, was impressed by the story of Kaavalan and hence decided to buy its release rights.
‘Besides story, adding strength to the film is the screen presence of Vijay and Asin and the narration of Siddique. All these things have made Kaavalan the first distribution venture of Sakthi Chidambaram,’ sources say.
Directed by Siddique, the movie, a remake of Malayalam hit Bodyguard (which too was directed by Siddique) has music by Vidyasagar and cinematography by N Ekambaram. Produced by Romesh Babu, the shooting is almost complete and the film is expected to hit the screens this December.
